Knowing God: Pathways To A Changed Life
So the question “can a person change?” is a deeply personal question. Can I change? Check out this fictional story, written by Lead Pastor Craig Mayes, about “Joe” saddled with an addiction to pornography,* who seeks counsel from a professional counselor, a pastor**, and then has a dream visitation from the New Testament writer, Paul. In a surprising twist, Paul’s approach takes a very different approach, “Your habitual disobedience over many years indicates not that you have an obedience problem, but that you have a love problem.”
*Trigger warning: descriptions of Joe’s sin may not be appropriate for all audiences
**We believe that professional counselors and pastors serve a very important role in helping individuals seeking change and wholeness. To view a list of local counselors we trust, click here.
