CARE AT KENSINGTON
Sometimes we need a helping hand, a shoulder to lean on, or a listening ear
At Kensington, we don’t pretend life is easy, and you don’t have to pretend you have it all together. We all go through hard times and need the support of others.
If you’re overwhelmed and need someone to talk you through your next steps, call a Campus Care Provider at the Help Bank.

If you've lost a spouse, child, family member or friend, it may be hard to feel optimistic about anything. Grief Recovery, a 13-week study to guide you through grief and loss is open to all. Grief Recovery is offered twice a year at our Troy, Orion, and Clinton Twp. Campuses. Our next session begins in January. Each session, led by people who have experienced it themselves, includes a video seminar featuring interviews with top experts in the field, along with small group discussion.
Our dedicated volunteers bring encouragement and prayers of faith to those who are in local hospitals, medical centers, recovery centers and homebound. If you or someone you know would like to be blessed by such a visit, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call the Troy Campus during business hours at 248-786-0600.
Blending Family Ministry
Blended Family Ministry is offering an 8-week workshop studying author Ron Deal’s book/DVD series called “The Smart Stepfamily.” The workshop provides practical, realistic and biblical insights to the issues that blended families face. This workshop is for both engaged and married couples. Find a community of others who are contemplating blending a family or are “in the trenches” building and growing their blended families.
Financial Stewardship Ministry
Do you live paycheck to paycheck and never seem to get ahead? If you're like most Americans and have too much month left at the end of the money, join us to learn biblical truths about how to manage money God's way. Through video teaching, class discussions and interactive small group activities, you will learn biblically-based practical steps to get from where you are to where you've dreamed you could be. This plan will show you how to get rid of debt, manage your money, spend and save wisely, and much more! Classes meet for around an hour and a half each week for nine weeks.
You don't have to go through the painful and stressful experience of divorce or separation alone. Divorce Recovery is a 10-week recovery workshop combining expert speakers with small group discussion. Oasis is a concurrent program for children and teens affected by divorce. We offer regular workshops twice per year, in the fall and winter/spring. Registration for the winter program is open at Clinton Township & Orion Campuses.
OTHER AREAS OF HELP
Help Bank | Campus Care Providers
When crisis hits, your first point of contact is a Campus Care Provider. Our goal at the Help Bank is to support people through the rough spots in life by sharing information and resources about our ministries at Kensington and those available in the community. Call a Campus Care Provider Monday-Friday between 8am-4pm, and we will listen, encourage, and connect you with help. Whether it’s talking you through a tough decision or providing your family with an emergency food box, we’re ready to help.
If you need help during a weekend, visit one of our campuses and connect with our campus prayer team or stop by the Info Center to talk with someone.
Pastoral Care Team
Members of our Pastoral Care Team are trained by the nationally known Stephen Ministry program and are compassionate listeners who walk alongside others to provide skilled and distinctly Christian care in times of need. They can’t promise to have all the answers, but they can promise their focused support. To receive care from one of our Pastoral Care Team members, call us at 248.786.0600 and ask for a Campus Care Provider – they can get the process started.
