Brazil

Reaching the largest Portugese-speaking country in the world

Brazil is the largest country in South America, and its most populace city, São Paulo, is the largest city in the Americas. That’s why we’ve partnered with Centro de Treinamento para Plantadores de Igrejas (CTPI) since 2015 to reach the [one] in Brazil. CTPI is bringing the gospel message of Jesus to a country steeped in spiritism and superstition.

AREAS OF IMPACT

Our partnership with CTPI and church-planting movement leader, Ricardo Agreste, is making an impact in Brazil by planting new Christ-centered churches, training leaders, and supporting planters in residence. We also make an impact through face-to-face encouragement by taking short-term trips with members from the Kensington community – including those from our Brazilian campus in Troy.

MOVEMENT IN BRAZIL

CHILD SPONSORSHIP

Kensington's program, nochild.org, has expanded sponsorship to Brazil! Through a partnership between Kensington's Brazilian Campus and global partner, Chacara Primavera Church, we are working alongside the Aquarela Project - a faith-based nonprofit in Campinas, Brazil. This ministry is dedicated to meeting the physical, emtional, and spiritual needs of children in the favelas (slums) who are extrememly vulverable to negative influences. Sponsorship allows for children to have a safe, welcoming, education-supporting, and faith-building space before and after school.

church planting

Kensington's mission, to see every[one] transformed and mobilized by Jesus, is at the root of our work in Brazil and our partnership with CTPI and the "mother church," Chacara Primavera Church. By working together, we are able to launch around five Christ-centered churches each year - all bringing the hope-filled message of Jesus Christ.

TRAINING PROGRAM

Chacara Primavera Church and Kensington Church have similar styles, missions, and communities. By sharing our own best practices and expereience in church-planting, staff members of Chacara Primavera and CTPI benefit from our partnership. We look for every opportunity to provide information and resources, and to support training conferences and internships that will benefit this church-planting movement in Brazil.

PLANTERS IN RESIDENCE

Because of our partnership, Chacara Primavera Church has been able to implement a two-year, in-residence training program for those preparing to plant new churche s. This time of preparation is vital to the success and growth of new churches and their leaders.
