Troy Lighting Director/Facility Tech

Position Description:

Lead service and ministry lighting at the Troy campus including design, set up, live implementation, tear down, maintenance and volunteer participation.  Oversee the Troy chapel, training wing and lobby technical resources.  Along with the Troy Production Manager, create, implement and oversee coverage, policies/procedures, upkeep and maintenance/repair regarding these areas along with identifying and developing volunteers to increase oversight capacities.

Qualifications: 

  1.  Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in live production preferred.
  2.  Experience: General knowledge of lighting, video and audio equipment, strong time management skills, organization and the ability to train others. Experience with lighting systems and their implementation.  Demonstrates ability to use lighting as an artistic tool to enhance a performance.  
  3. Affirmation of the mission, vision, values, and beliefs at Kensington.
  4. Ability to recruit, train and lead emerging leaders and volunteers.

Responsibilities:

1. Service/ Event Support
Coordinate lighting for Troy services and events in the auditorium including overseeing and scheduling all contract and volunteer lighting designers, operators, etc. 

Facilitate training, recruitment and serving opportunities for lighting volunteers.

Partner with Troy production team on maintenance and upkeep of all lighting equipment and processes.

Participate in lighting plot layout decisions and hanging lighting to support stage designs

Participate in screen content decision with regard to overall room beauty and intention

Provide spiritual leadership and foster team community and mindset

2.  Training wing oversight
Oversee the chapel, training wing and lobby technical resources.  Participate in upkeep and repair of training wing technical gear.  Report issues to the Central Production Director.

Partner with Troy K-kids Production Director to ensure all training wing systems are maintained and ready for use.  Provide support for ministries/events when needed.    

Partner with facilities department to ensure support of appropriate requests and accountability in how systems are stewarded

3.  Team Participation
Outside of weekends off, be at the campus on weekends

Engage actively in all scheduled meetings (Staff meetings, production meetings, direct report meetings etc)

Participate in Troy auditorium team projects

Provide tech coverage for events/ministry requests when scheduled.  (All staffs, Church Planter’s Forum, Funerals, Weddings etc…)

Provide support for central master calendar tech needs when assigned.

4.  Innovation
Partner with Production Staff to always look for ways to improve Team, Process, and Systems. Always pursuing the greatest intersection of stewardship and creativity.
