Description

Partner with Student Ministry Director to accomplish all functions of KKids environments at Kensington Church Traverse City campus. Support and schedule KKids volunteers. Ensure that Large Group and Small Group supplies are prepared and organized.

Position Requirements

Qualifications

  1. Education: High School diploma
  2. Experience: Participation in small group, experience in leading and shepherding a team or small group.
  3. Requirements: Ability to manage multiple tasks, enjoy children, administrative skills, ability to learn and utilize technology, ability to recruit, lead, develop teams of adults and youth volunteers, gift of shepherding, skilled at team building.

Responsibilities

  • Recruit, train, shepherd, and schedule team of Large Group and Small Group volunteers for weekend services.
  • Weekly administrative duties including curriculum prep, scheduling volunteers, applications and background checks, event prep, and other tasks as needed.
  • Work alongside Large Group and Small Group volunteers to ensure the curriculum is understood and implemented
  • Creating fun/clean/safe environments (Décor, Stage Design, etc.) in KKids on Sunday mornings to welcome kids, families, and volunteers
  • Partnering with Parents (Social Media, Orange App, Milestone Events, etc.)
  • Fun and friendly presence in KKids on Sunday mornings to welcome kids, families, and volunteers
  • Prep and support for KKids events (Fun, Training, Celebrating)
  • Attend staff meeting & central meetings when required.

Navajo Nation

House of Joy is Kensington’s newest Global Partner located in Black Mesa, Arizona near Kayenta on the Navajo Nation Reservation. Pastor JR founded the House of Joy and serves the Diné  people (pronounced Di-Nay in the Navajo language and means “the people”) both locally on Black Mesa and throughout the reservation. Pastor JR is leading a movement and seeing lives transformed through his church, the food bank, and service projects completed in partnership with visiting mission teams.
