Description

20 hours each week. To organize and lead the weekly experience where students are transformed and mobilized through engaging large group and small group environments. Develop a leadership team (of primarily young adults) to create a team approach. Provide each volunteer with a care-load and give each student an adult spiritual mentor. Work with Kensington to create a synergistic Student Ministry across campuses.

Position Requirements

Qualifications

1.    Education: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

2.    Experience: Experience working with leading artists and technicians. Ability to lead superiors and manage complex projects. Ability to discern artistic effectiveness and advise accordingly. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively across departmental lines.

3.    Requirements: Has an affinity with Kensington Leadership and vision.  Membership at Kensington Community Church or in process. Affirmation of the mission, vision, values and beliefs of Kensington Church.

Responsibilities

    • Possesses teachability, humility, moral/ethical integrity, and the desire to grow spiritually.Proven ability to lead and develop leaders, build teams, and cast vision for a high impact church.Expresses and has confirmation of a desire and call to serve ministry at Kensington.
    • Lead Student Ministry team to deepen transformation and mobilization from middle school to young adult. 
    • Lead Student Ministry Team in partnering with parents to grow a deep faith in the next generation 
    • Passionately pursue students and young adults in our community  
    • Recruit, develop, and lead small group leadersand develop a team (of primarily young adults) to assist in leading our students. 
    • Produce Student (Middle School & High School) and Young Adult environments   
    • Create, implement and lead Student and Young Adult campus specific events

Navajo Nation

House of Joy is Kensington’s newest Global Partner located in Black Mesa, Arizona near Kayenta on the Navajo Nation Reservation. Pastor JR founded the House of Joy and serves the Diné  people (pronounced Di-Nay in the Navajo language and means “the people”) both locally on Black Mesa and throughout the reservation. Pastor JR is leading a movement and seeing lives transformed through his church, the food bank, and service projects completed in partnership with visiting mission teams.
