Prepare, create, and oversee all functions of our Kkids welcome desk and kfriends room. In conjunction with our Coordinator, schedule, direct, support and shepherd volunteers and families in these spaces.
Schedule: Sundays 8-1pm 5 hours;
2 hours prep materials for next Sunday (can be on Sunday or a different day);
1-hour KKids meeting during the week (via Teams or in person)
· Education: High School diploma. Undergraduate degree preferred, especially in the areas of ministry, education and/or child development.
· Experience: Volunteering or leading children’s ministry in a local church or organization with a proven ability to lead and develop volunteers, build teams and cast vision.
· Requirements: Membership at Kensington Community Church. Affirmation of the mission, values and beliefs of Kensington and Kensington Kid
1. COORDINATOR:
o Recruit, train, help schedule, support and shepherd volunteers on the welcome desk and kkids kfriends teams. Provide feedback and meet individually with volunteers as needed. Pray for and with volunteers. Help build community between volunteers by encouraging them to pray for one another.
o Train and equip welcome desk volunteers and KKids Friends volunteers to lead special needs ministry using common-sense and smart strategies to develop best practices for each individual child as needed.
o Work with volunteers and other staff members to ensure the quality and effective delivery of large and small group programming for kkids friends by printing and prepping materials.
o Set up & clean up kkids kfriends room and welcome desk on Sundays.
o Maintain toys and furniture in Kkids kfriends room and update as needed.
o Participate in the following meetings: DR with Kkids Director 1x month, & KKids team weekly.
o Participate in other duties such as Christmas, Easter and special events may work more hour

House of Joy is Kensington’s newest Global Partner located in Black Mesa, Arizona near Kayenta on the Navajo Nation Reservation. Pastor JR founded the House of Joy and serves the Diné people (pronounced Di-Nay in the Navajo language and means “the people”) both locally on Black Mesa and throughout the reservation. Pastor JR is leading a movement and seeing lives transformed through his church, the food bank, and service projects completed in partnership with visiting mission teams.
