New Here? New Here?

What We Do

Never been to Kensington? Never even been to church? No Problem.

You're here because you're looking for answers, and that means we like you already. When Kensington was founded 25 years ago, we were asking the same questions you might be asking now. Questions that ran the whole gamut - from small questions like "Am I going to fit into a new environment?" to the big stuff like "Is this whole God thing even worth pursuing?" All those years ago we decided we needed to find out - and 25 years later we're excited to search for the answers together with you. New to Kensington and wondering what’s next? Join us at “Starting Point,” either in the lobby or the auditorium after service, to introduce yourself, ask questions and learn about opportunities to help you plan your best next steps to get connected. “Starting Point” is a place for new attenders and those not yet connected to meet the Kensington leaders at your campus and find out more. Plus, the coffee is on us! We look forward to meeting you.

Jesus founded His church on a Rock. So did we.

Your first impression is our first priority.

Jesus Christ has given us an amazing story to tell – and we consider every Kensington service, from the smiling faces at the front door to the final chord of the closing song, a chance to share that story with you!

From spoken word performances to fully produced short films and arena-ready live music, Kensington Church has always brought the message of God to life through the arts. Each of Kensington’s hour-long weekend services feature live music, an artistic expression of the day’s message, and down to earth teaching from your campus pastor. We belong to the global neighborhood.

Kensington’s weekend services are our bread and butter, but getting together every Sunday isn’t about checking boxes on spirituality scorecard, it’s about charging up as a community so we can leave the auditorium and change the world with the good news of Jesus Christ.

The two main ways we do that are by locking arms with local schools and global partners. Locally we’re investing in the next generation by connecting with underfunded schools in our communities– whether that means giving our time by tutoring or counseling students, our talents by coaching sports or running after school performance classes, or our treasures through annual drives for Back to School supplies or Thanksgiving dinners for families in need.

Kensington Church is making a global impact too by partnering with established ministries around the world in places like Kenya, India, Nepal, Israel/Palestine, and more. Partnership with Kensington provides indigenous leaders funds that allow them to minister to their neighbors’ physical needs by building hospitals or digging clean water wells and spiritual needs through pastor training programs or supporting local church plants. In addition, every year we send dozens of medical, evangelical, and construction teams on short-term trips to show the love of God in positive and practical ways!

“Children are our future.” -The Big Book of Church Clichés

We may not have come up with it, but at Kensington Church we completely buy into the idea that the next generation is the greatest gift we’ve been given, and it’s our job to introduce them the incredible adventure God is planning for their lives.

For every stage in your child’s life Kensington Church has created a safe, encouraging space for them to learn, grow, and connect with God at their own level. From Kensington Kids programs going on during every weekend service for our youngest visitors to small groups and short-term trips for high school students to worship concerts hosted by our young adults group, 18/29, there’s always an opportunity for students and young people to engage with God in meaningful and memorable ways.

If you’re planning a visit with your youngsters and want to check out our KKids program stop by the children’s security checkpoint in the lobby!
