Frequently Asked Questions

There is a Saturday service at the Troy Campus location at 5:30 pm every week except during the month of July. There is a Midweek service (Wednesday evenings at 7pm) that rotates between the Orion Campus, Troy Campus, and Clinton Township Campus locations.

Midweek at Orion is on the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays of the month.

Midweek at Troy is on the 2nd and 4th Wednesdays of the month.

Midweek at Clinton Township takes place on the 3rd Wednesday of the month.

Kensington Kids (KKids) is for children Birth thru 5th grade. Babies and toddlers receive nurturing care and have fun activities in a safe and loving environment. Preschoolers and elementary kids participate in high-energy music, creative lessons and games, and have tons of fun learning about Jesus.

Breakaway (Grades 6-8) is the middle school ministry and Edge (Grades 9-12) is the high school ministry at each Kensington Campus. It is a weekly experience for students to connect – a place to belong, a place to have fun, a place to explore faith. We spend time together is large group where we learn about Jesus in a powerful and relevant way, and then break into small groups to ask tough questions, grow, and develop great friends.

A weekend service lasts just over an hour. It includes worship music and a live teaching. Each Kensington Campus has one or two teaching pastors, and it’s not uncommon to see teachers on stage from other campuses. There is no dress code, so come as you are. Make sure to get a cup of coffee on your way into the auditorium. If you are visiting or new, please plan to stop by The HUB in the lobby either before or after service to introduce yourself. A phased reopening

As we begin to gather physically again in our buildings, we will take the necessary
precautions to ensure the safety of all. We love this community and value each and every
one of you.

  • Hello Kensington Families,

If you haven’t heard the exciting news yet, next Sunday, July 12, we will finally be able to gather once again for in-person services at most of our metro-Detroit locations! The only exception is that we are still working on finalizing a reopening date for our Birmingham Campus – as soon as that date is confirmed, you will be the first to know. Our entire team has been seeking God’s wisdom as well as gathering information from a breadth of sources (government, industry, and the broader church community) in order to make preparations to welcome everyone back to church next weekend.

As we prepare, we wanted to inform you of a few specifics as it relates to reopening:

    1. Our in-person services will be a physically-distanced gathering with a maximum of one-third the capacity in each of our auditoriums. Families and individuals will be asked to sit with three chairs between each party to abide by social distancing recommendations. Our usher teams will assist with the seating process prior to each service. Please be prepared to follow signs that direct where to enter and exit as well.

    2. Because of the reduced auditorium capacity, a reservation system has been created to ensure safety and social distancing. Entry into each campus will require a ticket for each individual in your party. Free tickets are reservable on our website. Once your ticket(s) is reserved, your name(s) will be added to our guest list for a quick, no-scanning entry process – just state your name to our usher or host.

    3. Children and students who attend service will remain with their family as there will be no Kkids or Student Ministry programs offered during these first several weeks of reopening. As well, there will be no lobby coffee nor snacks available.

    4. All in attendance will be asked to wear a mask or face covering while inside our buildings.

    5. Our service times are as follows:

    · Troy, Orion, Clinton Twp, & Traverse City Campuses: 9am & 11am
    · Clarkston Campus: 10am

    · Birmingham Campus: 10am | Livestream only
    · Brazilian Campus: 11am

  • We will live stream services on our website, on YouTube, on Facebook and on our app during the times listed above, so we encourage those who are immunocompromised or have small children unable to tolerate a mask to stay safe and continue to worship with us online.

  • If you have experienced any COVID-19 symptoms or have been around someone exposed, please stay home for the safety of others and join us online. As Danny Cox, our Troy Campus Lead Pastor reminds us, “We are taking the proper detailed precautions to ensure the safety of all involved, especially our people who are immunocompromised, our precious children and our valuable older contingency.”

We are excited to begin gathering in person as a family once again, and we thank you in advance for your willingness to follow these guidelines to help us provide the safest environment possible for all who gather.

    We’re in this together,
    The Staff at Kensington Church

P.S. If the situation demands that we must change or cancel services due to unexpected shifts in guidelines, health concerns, or local protocol, we will alert you as soon as possible.
