Small Groups - A Journey Home

AT SOME POINT IN OUR LIVES,
WE'VE ALL FELT LIKE WE DIDN'T QUITE BELONG

So we put up a good front. And we may have gotten pretty good at it. But no matter how successful and in-control the world sees us, we can still find ourselves feeling alone or exhausted by the effort. This can change.

What if it was possible to feel completely at home, no matter where you were? What if you could always feel understood, valuable, protected and loved? What if you could let down your guard, get recharged, find rest and be filled with bravery and hope?

No matter where you are right now, you can. We invite you to make the journey home.

HOW TO TAKE THIS JOURNEY:

01 Know

GO TO THE WEEKEND

This is when you'll be taught, get surrounded by the journey experience, and where it all comes together. You don't want to miss it.

02 Discuss

GO TO YOUR SMALL GROUP

This is the casual environment where you'll talk about your journey experience, get known, get challenged and build into others.

03 Do

DO YOUR CHALLENGE

This is how you'll experiment with applying the journey to your daily life. Every week you'll get a challenge during your small group, and you'll complete the challenge between weekly meetings.

WHAT IS A HOST?

Being a host means that you welcome a group of people into your home - or another suitable spot - for six weeks. You don't need to have all the answers, and we don't expect you to be a Bible expert or therapist. Just be friendly, inclusive, a quiet leader and a good role model.

BEFORE THE JOURNEY STARTS:

  1. Apply to Host
  2. Form your small group. If you already have a group, great! Consider expanding it to add some new friends, neighbors or coworkers - because we like to bring others into the fold. If you're forming a new group, you can go to kensingtonchurch.org/journeyhome to complete the host application.
  3. Contact your group. As soon as you can, contact everyone in your group to confirm a meeting time and location. And tell everyone to bring their Journey Guide with them. This is super duper important. (They'll get their guides at services on February 3 and on the first weekend of the journey, February 10.
