Kensington Membership FAQ

How Do I Become a Member?

Kensington has been around since 1990 and we would love our members to know why & how we started this joint.

  • The START workshop offers vision and history of Kensington. If you haven’t done so already, we ask that you attend a START workshop at your local campus. Learn more by clicking here.
  • After completing the START workshop we ask that you fill out the online membership application.
  • Upon receiving your application, a representative from your campus will contact you to set up a time to meet.

Who Can Join?

Anyone who agrees to embrace Kensington's mission and core values in both words and actions can become a member at the Membership Event.

Is There a Minimum Age Requirement for Membership?

Yes. Anyone age 12 and older can become a full-fledged member of Kensington. Kids in Breakaway and Edge can become members by either attending the Membership Event or by going through the membership sequence offered during the school year by each of those programs.

I Might Already Be a Member. How Do I Know for Sure?

Attending services, or participating in a small group or serving team at Kensington doesn't automatically make you a member. In fact, out of the 11,000 who call Kensington their church home, only 3,300 are actual members. If you're unsure of your membership status, e-mail membership@kensingtonchurch.org and we'll let you know.

What If I Don't Want to Become a Member?

That's perfectly okay. We realize membership is a "big ask" and not everybody's ready to take that step. Our desire is to help people grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ, whether or not they are members. If you aren't ready, we hope you'll continue to attend services, get connected in a small group, serve God as he's called you, and participate in other Kensington events as you desire.
