Care & Help At Kensington we offer a variety of support...

Crisis Care

Sometimes we need a helping hand, a shoulder to lean on, or a listening ear. When crisis hits, your first point of contact is our Campus Care Providers. They're trained to get the proper information so our Care teams can step in and better care for you. If you need assistance, call during business hours at 248.786.0600 and ask for a Campus Care Provider. We're ready to help.

PrayerNow

We offer PrayerNow, an e-mail driven team of committed prayer warriors who provide consistent prayer cover for those who are hurting. If you need prayer for any situation, the team will pray for your needs and send you an e-mail response. All prayer requests are held in strict confidence. To request prayer or to join the team,
e-mail us anytime 24/7 at prayernow@kensingtonchurch.org.

Stephen Ministers

Inspired by a story of the early church in Acts 6, Stephen Ministers are trained, compassionate listeners who walk alongside others. They provide skilled and distinctly Christian care in times of need. They can't promise to have all the answers, but they can promise their focused support. To receive care from a Stephen Minister, call us at 248.786.0600 and ask for a Campus Care Provider - they can get the process started. Other questions? E-mail stephen.ministry@kensingtonchurch.org

Celebrate Recovery

No matter what issue that you or someone in your life is dealing with, our confidential, biblically-based program offers support and hope for the hurts, habits, and hang-ups of life. No fee, no registration, no pressure. Join us any Monday at 7pm at the Troy Campus. Low cost child care is available. Questions? Click here for more information or contact celebraterecovery@kensingtonchurch.org.

The Landing: Recovery for Teens

Kids are going through a lot right now – substance abuse, sexual brokenness, and peer pressure. The Landing is for all middle and high school students who need help dealing with the craziness or pain of life. The reasons they attend vary (family struggles, regrets, abuse, addictions, etc). Whatever the reason they attend, their goals are the same: healing, freedom and release. Join us any Monday at 7pm at the Troy Campus or click here for more information.

Beyond Divorce & Oasis Workshops

You don't have to go through the painful and stressful experience of divorce or separation alone. Beyond Divorce is a 10-week recovery workshop combining expert speakers with small group discussion. Oasis is a concurrent program for children and teens affected by divorce. Click here to register for the next workshop. If you have questions, contact beyonddivorce@kensingtonchurch.org. You can also find great info and support at www.divorcecare.com.

Marriage Resources

At Kensington, we think marriage is a great idea and one of God's best ways of helping us grow. But like everything worthwhile it requires regular care and feeding. Whether your marriage is thriving, barely surviving or somewhere in between, click here for resources and ideas on strengthening your most important relationship.

Counselors We Trust

Sometimes we need a guide to help us through a hard time, and distinctly Christian counseling can be your best investment. We recommend that you interview several counselors before making a final selection. We also believe that Jesus is at the center of any healing process, but it can be helped by a knowledgeable counselor. If you're looking for professional help in your marriage, family, or personal life, look below for a list of counseling centers in your area that we know and trust.

Need a helping hand?

Having a need is what makes us human. Sharing the need is what makes us the Church. TheCommon.org is a web-based tool that connects people with specific abilities to people with matching needs. You can ask for help (I need a ride to the doctor... I need my faucet fixed) or offer help (I can fix appliances... I can bring meals). You can give stuff away (I have an extra fridge... I have a free lawnmower) or get something you need (I need a stove... I need a wheelchair). Simply visit TheCommon.org to register — and match your needs to someone’s ability.
All for free.

Job Seekers Group

The KCC Job Seeker's group offers online information focusing on what methods to use in finding a job. The group uses e-mail communication to enrolled members to post local job opening information and provide employment search information of varied types. We are in our 6th year of helping unemployed people at Kensington find work.Contact Mark Lindeman at mlindeman@wowway.com or call 248-884-9335. Also, please let us know if you're aware of local job openings in your company or business!

Prison Ministry

God’s gift of love and forgiveness extends behind bars. He sees worth and potential in the 50,000 men and women currently serving time in Michigan. You can bring prisoners the hope of Jesus by volunteering. We provide training and preparation to all applicants. Areas of outreach include being a pen pal (corresponding with prisoners), visiting inmates (going into the prison), and mentoring the children of incarcerated parents (giving them attention and direction). For info, click on kensingtonchurch.org/prison. Questions? Email us at prisonministry@kensingtonchurch.org

Military Family Support Group

As parents, spouses, family members and friends of loved ones serving our nation in the military, it's tough to travel this uncertain and difficult road alone, and impossible to stand on our own strength. The Military Family Support Group was designed so we can meet others in our unique situation, share experiences, learn from one another, lift up each other and those serving in prayer, and find comfort in an environment grounded in Jesus Christ. We meet on the second Thursday of each month @7pm at Ann & Gary Green's house. For more info or to add the name of someone serving in the military to our prayer list, contact military@kensingtonchurch.org.
